I loved reading about this. The concert began sharply at the time that had been announced, and that was commendable. We started from Mumbai, and now, the festival will be held across nine cities. Parvathy has been associated with the festival since its first year and her solo performance transports one back to the age of Megha Dhake tara where the lone Baul singer is singing "Maaji tumhaar naam jaani na". It was a wonderful, very different, transforming experience. Many from the audience were clearly irritated. The efforts of Banyan Tree, the organisation behind the show, in bringing so many Sufi artists from different parts of the world on a common platform are commendable.

At the end of the Tannoura performance, as an FYI, the anchor mentions that each skirt weighs about 20 kgs in weight in case you thought that it was light to carry and whirl. Some of their quawwalis were devotional, some were about love, and some were pure fun.

Maybe, a closed auditorium would have been better suited to such an event? They surprised everyone by pulling out flags of India from their garb, and dancing with it, to honour the country that had invited them to perform so lovingly. This year too, it provides the backdrop to a year-old music festival called Ruhaniyat.
I hope the organizers have a feedback section where you can raise these points.
